Summer of Play at Stourhead

Looking for the ultimate family day out before the school holidays wrap up?

The brilliant “Summer of Play” at Stourhead National Trust is in full swing, and it is the perfect excuse to get outdoors!

Running daily until 6 September 2026, the Stableyard and Play Meadow have been completely transformed into an adventurous paradise for kids (and big kids!) of all ages.

Here is what you can get stuck into:

  • Scale the mighty straw bale castle (Strawton castle) and tackle the climbing obstacles
  • Try your hand at archery or race your friends through the meadow maze
  • Enjoy ride-on tractors, sand pits, construction zones, and classic lawn games
  • Relax with a story inside the cosy tipi tent or find the hidden camp
  • Drawn to Trees trail and Tree Zodiac exhibition, created with artist Luke Adam Hawker

BONUS FOR POKÉMON FANS: This year’s event is supported by Pokémon!
Kids can explore dedicated Pokémon zones, take part in mega games, swap cards at the trading stations, and collect special stickers.

It is the perfect place to pack a picnic, burn off some energy, and enjoy the stunning Wiltshire landscape.

Normal admission applies, but the event is completely FREE for National Trust members!

Open daily until 6 September 2026
