Celebrity readers announced for Julia’s House Carols by Candlelight event

Actor Kris Marshall who played lovesick Colin in the hit film Love Actually and Antiques expert Paul Martin, better known as the presenter of the TV show Flog It!, join the line-up of guest speakers for this year’s Julia’s House Carols by Candlelight event in Devizes.

They will be joined by two other ‘big’ camels Temujin and Therese, at St John’s Church on Tuesday, 4 December for this festive fundraiser in aid of the Dorset and Wiltshire children’s hospice charity.

Both Paul and Kris have Wiltshire roots – Paul has an antiques business in Marlborough and Kris was born in Malmesbury. They will be doing readings as part of the festive mix which will include music from adult and children’s choirs, traditional carols and post-concert mulled wine and mince pies. Tickets cost £20 for adults and £5 for under-12s and are already on sale.

Julia’s House provides frequent short breaks for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions to give their parents a much-needed break from the stress of caring round the clock. It has been supporting Wiltshire families for five years offering home-based and community care and opened the county’s first children’s hospice in Devizes last year.

The Devizes concert is one of three being organised by the charity this year. The other two are in Dorset: Julia’s House Patrons Martin Clunes and Debra Stephenson and Holby City actor Guy Henry lead the line-up at St James Church, Poole on December 3rd and former Blue Peter presenter Valerie Singleton and DJ Johnnie Walker will be headlining at St James’ Church, Shaftesbury, on the 5th.

Tickets are available online at Juliashouse.org or by calling the fundraising office on 01202 644220.
