Julia’s House appeals for Wiltshire volunteers

Julia’s House are appealing for volunteers to rally behind them as fundraising gets underway to build a children’s hospice for Wiltshire.

The Dorset and Wiltshire Children’s Hospice charity needs to recruit a small army of volunteers in Wiltshire to man stalls at fundraising events, help with office admin and to generally spread the word about Julia’s House.

The charity is holding a volunteer roadshow in Salisbury and Amesbury on Wednesday 13th May. Volunteer co-ordinator June Maidment and newly-appointed Wiltshire fundraiser Liz Froud will be inviting people to pop in for coffee and a chat to find out more about donating time.

They will be at the Salisbury Hall Hotel in Castle Street between 10 am and noon or at the Antrobus Arms Hotel, Church street, Amesbury from 2pm – 4 pm.

June said: “We are really excited to have started fundraising in Wiltshire with the ultimate goal of building a hospice in the heart of the county. But we are going to need lots of volunteers in order to achieve this. We are a friendly, hardworking charity who truly value the contribution that our volunteers make – whether it’s a regular commitment of just a couple of hours now and again. Julia’s House simply could not exist without the help of its volunteers.”

Anyone who can’t make the roadshow but would like to find out more about volunteering can contact June on 01202 644220 or call the Wiltshire fundraising office on 01980 677105.
