From 28 November to 31 December, the National Trust’s historic estate will once again be transformed into a glowing wonderland as Christmas at Stourhead unveils a host of dazzling new installations alongside returning favourites.
Now a highlight of the South West’s festive calendar, this year’s trail will fill the gardens with light, music and atmosphere, offering visitors of all ages a chance to experience the beauty of Stourhead in a new and unforgettable way.
Among the showstoppers for 2025 is Tis The Season by Output Arts, a shimmering collection of ten oversized neon baubles suspended in the branches of the estate’s grandest trees.
Ranging in size from thirty to sixty centimetres across and glowing in rich festive tones, they capture the nostalgic joy of Christmas past while lighting the path ahead.
Also new this year are twelve illuminated stars created by ArtAV, each rising up to five metres high, and six walk-through star arches that create a celestial passage across the trail.
These striking features join a line-up that includes colour changing spiral trees, illuminated snowdrops and cyclamen, and the much-loved Christmas Cathedral, a breathtaking tunnel of light stretching twenty-four metres across the landscape.
Set within one of England’s most famous gardens, the trail reflects the timeless beauty of Stourhead itself.
The shimmering lake, classical temples and centuries-old trees become part of the performance, their reflections dancing across the water in a scene that feels both ancient and new.
Visitors can complete their evening with festive food and drink, from spiced winter warmers to toasted marshmallows over open fire pits, surrounded by the glow of twinkling lights.
With its mix of wonder, heritage and warmth, Christmas at Stourhead promises a festive experience that will shine long after the lights fade.
