Swim for Swan

A charity which helps vulnerable adults in the county is holding a swimming challenge in Salisbury and Trowbridge to help raise funds and keep their vital work going.

The first ever Swim for Swan ‘Legacy for Wiltshire’ Challenge is to be held on Saturday, September 21 in partnership with Wiltshire Council, on behalf of Swan Advocacy Network.

It will take place early evening at Five Rivers Leisure Centre and Trowbridge Sports Club, run by DC Leisure. Those taking part in the sponsored event will be awarded their very own Swim for Swan ‘Legacy for Wiltshire’ medal.

All ages are welcome to take part, and applicants have until 12pm on September 11th to sign up for the event.

Since its establishment in 1999, Swan Advocacy has offered free, independent advocacy services to vulnerable adults in Wiltshire. Over this period it has supported thousands of individuals who have experienced difficulties due to age, illness or disability. Every day its advocates make life-changing differences to people living within Wiltshire.

People taking part in the event can take advantage of Wiltshire Council’s very own Swim Fit programme as a way to train in the run up to September. Swim Fit is all about getting results and helping achieve personal goals, whether it’s to lose weight, tone-up and improve technique or to become fitter and stronger.
